Books! Events! New Start(ers)!
Open up to learn about our e5 Bakehouse event on December 4, the luxury of time, a new look and a case for a new starter
We are slowly rolling out a new look to Sourced, I hope you like our new newsletter banner! This issue of The Sourced Lab looks at time, with Anna’s essay on having the privilege of time to read, and Chloe’s recipe gives you some background on her new recipe column with Vittles . We’ve added a few things to the reading list, and don’t forget to look at our Bookshop.org page
E5 Bakehouse x Sourced events are back!
Join us for an evening of learning to grow pumpkins (and other veg) from Hollie Wan Owens, an urban gardener who has transformed her East London garden into a vibrant veggie patch. We'll then be delving into storytelling techniques and finding out how to tell our own gourd myths.
As usual we'll be ending the evening with a beautiful E5 soup.
We have one request, which worked really well at our last event - we'd like you to bring an in date, unopened, non-perishable ingredient that we can donate to the Hackney Food Bank. For this, we'd like you to think about your favourite gourd dishes, and the things adjacent to it, such as: rice that goes with squash tagine, coconut milk that gets added to a pumpkin curry, the cinnamon spice for a pumpkin pie.
